Homelessness
Support

If you are homeless or worried about losing your home, help is available.

The best first step is usually to contact your local Housing Options service, where teams can assess your situation and help you access emergency accommodation or referral into supported housing where appropriate.

We work closely with such services across the Liverpool City Region, helping ensure people are referred to the right place as quickly and smoothly as possible.

If you are in immediate danger or have nowhere safe to stay tonight, please contact your local authority for urgent support.

SUPPORTED HOMES

Supported Homes

Supported homes provide safe places to stay alongside structured, relationship-based support.

These services are designed for people who are not ready to manage a tenancy independently, often because they are dealing with trauma, poor mental health, substance use or long periods of instability.

We want to help people feel safe, regain a sense of routine and begin planning for what comes next, at a pace that feels manageable.

  • Leeds Street is a large, city-centre supported housing service for adults experiencing homelessness with multiple and complex needs.

It provides a mix of self-contained and en-suite accommodation, with staff available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Many people supported at Leeds Street have experienced long periods of instability and may be living with poor mental health, substance use or involvement with the criminal justice system.

Emphasis is on stabilisation, safety and reducing immediate risk, while helping people access longer-term housing, health and specialist services when appropriate.

Our Story

Dutch Farm

An award-winning urban farm providing a restorative space for people to reconnect with nature, routine, and the wider community.

Mainstay

Mainstay is a coordinated assessment and access system designed to improve how people experiencing homelessness move into short-term accommodation.

The system was developed and has been managed by You Matter since May 2013, working closely with local authorities and accommodation providers across the Liverpool City Region.

Mainstay reduces the need for people to complete multiple applications or repeatedly retell their story. Instead, it provides a single, responsive assessment that helps prioritise people with the greatest need and place them into the most appropriate service quickly.

The success of the model has led to the inclusion of floating support, outreach and health services, strengthening coordination and improving outcomes across the system.

Good Neighbours

We’re committed to being a responsible and respectful neighbour.

The organisation is regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing and makes key policies available publicly, with routes in place for communities to raise concerns or seek information, ensuring issues are addressed constructively.
