Moving Forward Together as You Matter
Moving Forward
Together As You Matter
Over time, our organisation has grown alongside the communities we serve, adapting to the changing realities faced by people across Liverpool and the wider city region.
Today our work spans homelessness support, domestic abuse services, drug and alcohol recovery and mental health provision. Many of the people who come to us are navigating several of these challenges at once. Housing, health and recovery rarely sit in isolation from one another, and our services have developed with that understanding at their core.
As we have evolved, it has become increasingly important that the name we operate under reflects the breadth and depth of the work taking place today.
For many years, we have been part of the YMCA movement, and that history remains an important part of who we are. However, the national YMCA focus has increasingly centred on youth provision and while that work continues to play an important role in communities across the country, it no longer fully represents the services delivered here or the direction our organisation is taking.
As a result, we are now moving forward under a new name, You Matter.
The name captures something that has always been central to our work. We believe in people, not problems, and in the belief that everyone deserves dignity, stability and the opportunity to rebuild their life, whatever their circumstances.
Changing the name does not alter the support people receive. The services remain the same, the teams remain the same, and our commitment to the communities we work alongside remains unchanged.
What this next phase offers is greater clarity about the work being delivered today, as well as the work we will continue to grow in the years ahead.
It builds on nearly two centuries of experience supporting people across Liverpool and the wider city region, and on the belief that every person who comes through our doors deserves to know that they matter.
